Maya's End Of Year testing results are in and as expected she did great!!

We always enjoy receiving these test results. It is not a surprise that she does so well, however because it is done by an independent firm it is a validation that home school is working for our child. She is receiving quality education with out the bad influences that are so prevalent when a child is going to public school. Maya's education is very important but the building of strong character is equally important. I am so thankful to have the freedom of choice in Maya's schooling and for the wonderful Christian curriculum produced by Pensacola Christian College.

On a side note it is amazing to see public schools to begin to use the video method of schooling. As our state has began to feel the strain of the economy slowing, schools in our area are now offer 11th and 12th graders the opportunity to attend school online from their homes. I really do feel their will be a big move to this type of schooling over the next decade even in the lower grades. We will just have to wait and see.

Very proud of Maya's hard work this school year!

Mom's Bday & Bus Minstry Carnival

Today would have been my Mom's 69th Birthday. I miss her but it helps a lot to know she has been with the Lord a little over two years now and that some day I will join her. For a Christian death is not goodbye but instead its "I will see you on the other side." I love you Mommy.

On another note some friends of ours Kevin and Dawn Rice run the bus ministry at our church and we had the privilege of helping them have a carnival for the kids to enjoy. It was loads of fun and we were able to use our popcorn maker because it looks the part of a carnival popcorn maker. Enjoy the pics.

Yes, that is me playing tug a war :-) It was the only way I could get some of those teens to play! They are at an age where their to cool to play with little kids, so I told them if I am not to old your not to old :-P

The Food Was Great!

**The Servers were very friendly and pretty!

Everyone had loads of fun!

Today was also a happy day because Maya finally gets to sing in the choir. Oh how she has waited for this day! I know Mom would be so pleased with her granddaughter's servant attitude. I think we did a wonderful job of remembering her legacy this Lords day!

Maya's 12th Birthday sleepover.

Maya's Sleep over was a blast. Click on each photo in the collage to view the madness of a preteen sleep over.

The girls played some games: Bible charades!

We kept the food healthy but fun with Sausage & veggie kabobs and fruit kabobs. Some of the girls acted out the chopstick scene of Kung fu Panda! LOL!

Maya led a devotional from the book of Esther. She shared how the people's character effected the out come of their lives. She explained that we need to adapt the good character traits and avoid the bad if we want positive things to happen in our lives. She made the hand out and developed the devotion entirely by herself. This is the first time she has led her peers in a devotional. She did a wonderful job.

We also had a fashion show!! Each team was given trash bags, newspaper, tissue paper, tape, and glue to make an outfit in fifteen minutes.

Flip flop design contest The took a plain colored flip flop and added ribbons and beads to create these master pieces.

Our puppy dogs were a lot of fun for them too!

After several Movies and tons of popcorn they finally all went to sleep!!

Many memories were made and thier friendships made all the stronger!!
